Balancing the number of how many players in each poker table is the main concern in a multiple table tournament. This is an important consideration since if there are fewer number of players on each table, the pot will be less interesting with an amount not as a big as it would be on a table with more players. For tables with more players on the other hand, it is easy to lose control of the game and it may lead to a slow paced game of poker which can frustrate some players on the table.

To solve this problem it is best to determine the number of players which is ideal to play per table then divide the number of players in attendance to each table. However this task may not be easy especially when the number of players who showed up cannot be evenly distributed to each table.

The seating arrangement of the players must be done in a random manner. This not only prevents cheating and player collusion but it is the proper etiquette to do so. One can utilize drawing of lots where the players will each pick which table number they will be assigned to sit on.

As the numbers of players are eliminated, there is the need to reduce the number of poker tables. There are two helpful options to determine which player will move to another table. The first will be to roll a dice and the one with the lowest number will move to the less populated poker table. The other option will be to cut the deck and the one with the lowest card value on the cut deck will move.
